How This Tool Works
Your PDF is read and rendered entirely on your own device using PDF.js, the same open-source rendering engine behind Firefox's built-in PDF viewer. Nothing is uploaded to a server — you can verify this yourself by watching your browser's network tab while converting.
Each page is rendered onto a canvas at the resolution you choose, then exported as a PNG or JPG. Higher resolution multipliers produce sharper images at a larger file size — 2x is a reasonable default for most uses, 3x or 4x for print-quality output.

- PNG is lossless and handles text/line-art pages (contracts, screenshots, diagrams) more sharply, at a larger file size.
- JPG compresses more aggressively and is usually the better choice for photo-heavy pages, at a small quality tradeoff.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No — the entire conversion happens in your browser using PDF.js. The file never leaves your device.
Can I convert just one page instead of the whole PDF?
The tool renders every page, but each page thumbnail has its own download button — download only the ones you need, or use "Download all as ZIP" for everything at once.
Is there a page limit?
No hard limit is enforced, but very large PDFs (hundreds of pages, or high resolution settings) will take longer and use more of your device's memory, since everything runs locally rather than on a server.
Why does a higher resolution setting matter?
PDF pages are vector-based and have no fixed pixel size — the resolution multiplier controls how many pixels are rendered per page. Higher values produce sharper images, useful if you plan to zoom in or print the result.
